You’ve already chosen products to include in your skincare brand - now it’s time to create a lasting impression with beautiful labels.
There are few industries out there with such a potential to develop loyal customers as beauty and skincare. To make sure it’s love at first sight, you need to create an eye-catching skincare label design. With Selfnamed Design Studio, it is made easy and approachable whether you’re a design pro or have no prior experience. Let’s dive into both scenarios and the most effective way to use our Design Studio according to them.
Scenario 1: You’re a design pro or hiring one
The best way to achieve the perfect result in our Design Studio, download our print-ready templates. You will find them after choosing the product and pressing the “Create a design” button on the top right corner of the product page.
Then, you’ll see a button “Download template” at the bottom left side of the page as well as in the top navigation.
Please note that for some products - shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion - we are offering only primary (label) packaging, but for the rest of the products, primary packaging together with secondary packaging (box design) is available.
Packaging example without a box
Downloads come as an archived ZIP file with templates in .ai format. Manual with helpful technical information is also included. Use these templates in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop - or share them with your designer.
These templates contain all the required measurements, as well as all the necessary technical information on fonts, colors, images, etc. It also lists all the product ingredients, certifications, expiry time and other important information. Please save your design as a PNG file to not lose quality.
Packaging example with a box
Once you have created your design according to the template requirements, the next step is to upload your skincare product design file by clicking on “Upload visual media file”. After successful upload, your design file will appear in the Design Tool worksheet, where you can change the positioning of your design or rotate it, add text or figures if needed. If your design file is transparent, you can change the background color. You can play around with your design and add some bits and pieces to it if you desire. When your design is finished, click “Continue”. You’re all done and ready to proceed to checkout or add more products to your bag!
Scenario 2: You have no design experience and are looking for a simple way to create labels
No worries - Selfnamed Design Studio offers ways to create a simple skincare label design without previous experience. Its simple and interactive interface will help you create the product design of your dreams.

If you have your own assets such as logos, pictures or illustrations, use our integrated tools to make the design from scratch. In this scenario, you don't need third-party apps as long as you are happy with your assets and our provided toolset in the design platform.
First, choose the product you want to design. Then, press the “Create design” button on the top right corner of the product page. To add your logo or illustrations, click “Upload visual media file” in the top left corner or drag and drop files directly into the studio. For logo and other brand assets, we recommend using PNG with a transparent background.
Our design studio offers different tools to help you create magic:
-> Text. To add text, choose one of the fonts from the stylish font selection, pick the style, color, change the letter spacing. If you want to increase the font size, just drag one of the corners of the text box.
-> Colorize. Pick the desired background color for your packaging - you have 66 color options to choose from. If you choose a colorful background along with a premade logo or other brand assets uploaded via file upload feature, it is advised to use PNG with a transparent background to ensure your background color fills up all the areas.
-> Figures. Create your design by integrating different forms and figures. Change their colors and sizes, emphasize the edges, add text in them or simply create a geometrical collage. If you’re happy with the overall design but want to adjust the alignment or angle of the image, feel free to try image adjustment buttons to be 100% satisfied with the outcome of your design. You'll find these buttons in the top right corner.
-> Position. It’s your helping hand to maintain symmetry in the alignment of all objects.
If you have made any changes or deleted something by accident, you’ll find undo and redo buttons in the top left corner above the workspace.
