Shopify’s 100+ New Updates: Here's What You Need To Know
One of the leading e-Commerce platforms, Shopify, has recently launched more than 100 new features that will help you grow your business. We have gone over the list and compiled some of the most note-worthy features that you should check out.
Making Listings Has Never Been This Easy
Shopify claims that they have made the biggest upgrade to their platform’s foundation in 10 years. The new upgrade sees an increase in the product variant limit from 100 to 2000 per one product. While in skincare and cosmetics this might not be the most relevant of updates, it’s certainly a massive improvement for those with more complex product catalogues and lots of colours, sizes, and SKU options.
Something that might, however, be of interest to those in the skincare and cosmetics business, are the combined listings.
“If you’ve got a product that comes in multiple variations (like colour or style), buyers can now purchase any of them from a single product listing. Each variation will have its own description, media gallery, and descriptive URL,” explains Shopify.
Furthermore, the now improved product page will automatically apply standardized categories and category-specific product attributes across different variants, meaning that you won’t have to do it manually. It also means that your products will be easier to discover once published to social and marketplace channels.
Improved Customer Experience
You’ll also notice that the Shopify app has become faster, when it comes to loading speed, interactivity, and visual stability — 3 stats that actually can impact your store’s page ranking and, thus, your ability to make more sales.
Among other exciting news, there’s something called the Semantic search. A new AI-powered shopfront search feature, which gives the shopper’s more relevant search results that they’ll be more likely to buy.
“Someone might type “warm clothes for the winter” and the algorithm will recognize they’re looking for sweaters, beanies, woolen socks etc., even though they didn’t use those specific keywords,” explains the Shopify team.
